BT Vector scores high marks in industry journal
The BT Vector VCE150A received high praise in a recent comparison of four different combi trucks by influential Dutch industry journal Transport + Opslag.
An article by Martin Althoff and Theo Egberts in the July 2007 issue compared the BT model with the Jungheinrich EKX 515, the Crown TSP 6000 1.5 and the Still MX-X. The authors looked at lift speed, lowering speed, horizontal travel speed, diagonal travel speed and turning speed, and conducted pallet movement tests over distances of 30 and 60 meters.
Because different warehouse locations and drivers were used, Mr Althoff and Mr Egberts referred to the exercise as a comparison that provided multiple impressions, rather than a test. In this context, the Vector outperformed the competition in nearly every category measured, often by wide margins.
The Vector’s performance and low energy consumption were noted as ‘pluses’, while the Vector was the only one of the four trucks not to have any ‘minuses’ listed by the magazine. The Vector had the highest average productivity of the four trucks involved in the test. Because of its especially small turning radius, the Vector makes the use of smaller aisle widths possible, increasing the amount of available storage space.
