Toyota Material Handling Europe highlights strengths at CeMAT 2008

Toyota Material Handling Europe is showcasing its strengths at CeMAT 2008. On hand are new products and leading-edge technology – plus Toyota and BT trucks sharing one stage at the world’s leading fair for intralogistics.

With the theme ‘stronger together’, Toyota Material Handling Europe (TMHE) is rolling out its comprehensive range of Toyota counterbalanced forklifts and towing tractors and BT warehouse equipment, supported by service and added-value solutions.

Formed in 2006 to manage the Toyota and BT materials handling business in Europe, TMHE is part of Toyota Industries Corporation (TICO), the world leader in materials handling since 2001. The German market is served by Toyota Material Handling Deutschland.

The Toyota Material Handling booth at CeMAT highlights the company’s product range and innovations, along with its range of services and solutions.

Launch of BT Levio and BT Staxio – plus new product previews

At CeMAT 2008, TMHE is launching two brand new pedestrian truck lines to the market. Five BT Levio powered pallet truck models and eight BT Staxio powered stacker models have been specifically developed for ‘walkie’ operations. The keywords with BT Levio and BT Staxio are simplicity, safety and durability – giving people exactly what they need to get the job done.

Visitors to the Toyota Material Handling booth at CeMAT can also enjoy a preview of new BT Reflex reach trucks and Toyota 48-volt electric counterbalanced forklifts. The new Toyota 48-volt range will offer both 3-wheel and 4-wheel models.

These new trucks are part of an ambitious programme by TMHE to renew the heart of its product range. During a two-year period, TMHE will introduce new models addressing 70% of the European market potential. This programme started in 2007 with the launch of the Toyota Tonero engine-powered forklifts.

Innovations – Toyota Hybrid Technology

Another CeMAT highlight is the European premier of the Toyota Hybrid Concept Forklift. Developed in Japan by TICO, the Toyota Hybrid Concept Forklift draws on the pioneering Toyota Hybrid Technology used in the best-selling Toyota Prius, the most successful hybrid vehicle ever developed, with global sales of more than one million automobiles.

As part of its environmental commitment, TMHE designs environmental improvements into its products and processes to limit environmental impact in the four product life cycle stages: development, manufacturing, operation and recycling. The Toyota Hybrid Concept Forklift is targeted to reduce environmental impact during the operation phase of the product life cycle.

Services and solutions

CeMAT 2008 also marks the market launch of TMHE’s comprehensive services and solutions offer. With the promise ‘Empowering your business,' TMHE helps companies optimise their materials handling activities, giving customers the freedom to focus on their core business.

TMHE’s services and solutions offer includes Toyota Service, Toyota I_Site and Toyota Rental Solutions.

Thanks to TMHE's structured service programmes and extensive network – with 400 sales and service centres and 4,800 highly trained service technicians – customers can expect the same high Toyota Service standards in each of the more than 30 European countries where TMHE operates.

Toyota I_Site is the information system that gives managers the information they need to reduce costs and increase productivity. Toyota I_Site experts help companies set up monitoring and reporting to control damage costs, realise cost savings and enhance safety, and optimise their fleet usage.

To provide the flexibility required by today’s companies, Toyota Rental Solutions ensure that customers have the trucks they need, when and where they need them.

Stronger together

TMHE began operations in 2006 to manage the Toyota and BT materials handling business in Europe. Since then, Toyota and BT operations have been integrated at the European level and in most local markets, including Germany. The result is a stronger organisation that is closer to its customers and better able to meet evolving market needs.

Håkan Dahllöf, TMHE President says: “As the world’s leading fair for intralogistics, CeMAT 2008 offers the perfect setting for us to introduce the market to everything that Toyota Material Handing Europe has to offer. Our new organisation has been designed to make us stronger and bring us closer to our customers across Europe.”

Håkan Dahllöf adds: “Visitors to the Toyota Material Handling stand will see that we provide a complete range of products, services and solutions, supported by an extensive European distribution network, and backed by the global power of the world leader in materials handling. We invite customers to visit us at CeMAT to see how they are stronger together with Toyota Material Handling Europe.”
