As the focus on workplace safety increases across Europe, Toyota System of Active Stability (SAS) stands out as technology that actively reduces the risk of accidents. SAS constantly monitors forklift operations and automatically takes corrective action when it senses factors that could lead to truck or load instability. Its six advanced functions work together to keep your driver and goods safely on the move – and your productivity on the up.
On 4-wheel forklifts if the forklift becomes unstable during a turn, the rear axle will lock automatically. This helps to prevent side tip-over by adjusting the forklift truck's centre of gravity.
On 3-wheel Toyota forklifts, if Toyota SAS judges the turning speed to be dangerously high, it will automatically slow the forklift truck down to maintain stability.
Toyota SAS constantly monitors the load height and mast position, and when necessary, automatically adjusts the mast angle to protect the driver and the load.
If Toyota SAS senses that loads above a certain height are being tilted backwards, it automatically reduces the mast speed so the load moves surely and steadily into the right position
Levelling the forks manually takes a little extra time, every time. But now, with Fork Levelling Control, all it takes is the touch of a button to automatically level the forks at 90°. And that makes it easier to move loads into place.
The Active Steering Synchroniser, ensures that the steering knob and forklift truck wheels are always aligned correctly – so drivers always know in which direction the forklift will move. This also provides the most comfortable and ergonomic driving position.
